REGIS was featured as the Best University GIS Site by GIS World in its Best of the Net GIS Online issue, January 1996. Sites were selected based on user surveys. GRASSLinks is a World Wide Web interface to the geographic database of REGIS, an environmental planning research group at the University of California, Berkeley. GRASSLinks was developed by Dr. Susan Huse to provide public access to environmental data. A user need only have a Web browser and access to the internet to use the large spatial database and powerful GIS software available at REGIS. The REGIS GeoDatabase includes maps of environmental and political interest for the twelve counties comprising the San Francisco Bay and Delta region. GRASSLinks and REGIS utilize public domain software, GRASS, from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Refer to the REGIS Homepage for more information about the REGIS GeoDatabase, regional planning and geographic analysis, or ordering data on CDROM.
